Job summary

Captains Close Primary School invites applications for an EYFS Learning Support Assistant. The role supports Reception pupils, under the supervision of a teacher, in a nurturing environment with a focus on inclusion and outcome improvements for all children.

The role requires readiness to develop professionally, with strong EYFS knowledge and ability to work collaboratively in a team, supporting both academic and pastoral needs.

Qualifications

• NVQ 2 in Supporting Teaching and Learning or STL Level 2 Standards relevant to this post.
• Level 2 qualifications in maths/numeracy and English/literacy.

Responsibilities

• To work under the supervision of a teacher to provide care and encouragement to children and young people with disabilities or SEND, supporting them to participate in activities and liaising with parents/carers/other professionals as appropriate.
• To work under the direct supervision of a teacher to carry out planned learning activities to meet the needs of designated children, individually or in small groups, providing feedback on engagement and achievement of learning objectives.
• To support the development of pupils’ physical, intellectual, emotional and social well-being, contributing ideas to planning to meet development needs.
• To observe and feed back to the teacher on pupil performance and behaviour, taking action as appropriate per school policies.
