Job summary

Southgate Primary School is looking for a caring, enthusiastic EYFS Learning Assistant to join our Early Years team. You will support children's learning, development and wellbeing in a nurturing, play-based environment where every child can flourish.

Working closely with our EYFS Leader and wider team, you will play a vital role in supporting children's learning, development, and wellbeing, helping them build the confidence and skills they need for a successful start to school life.

Qualifications

• GCSE English and Maths at Grade C/4 or above.
• Level 2 Childcare qualification (Level 3 desirable).
• Experience in EYFS environment.
• Understanding of EYFS framework and child development.
• Up-to-date safeguarding training.
• Commitment to safeguarding and welfare of children.
• Excellent teamwork and communication.

Responsibilities

• Support high-quality teaching and learning across the EYFS curriculum.
• Act as a key worker, building relationships with children and families.
• Encourage curiosity, independence and social development through engaging activities.
• Help create a safe, inclusive environment where every child is valued.
• Contribute to assessment and observations to monitor progress.
