Job summary

Captains Close Primary School invites applications for an EYFS Learning Support Assistant. The role supports Reception pupils, under the supervision of a teacher, in a nurturing environment with a focus on inclusion and outcome improvements for all children.

The role requires readiness to develop professionally, with strong EYFS knowledge and ability to work collaboratively in a team, supporting both academic and pastoral needs.

Qualifications

• NVQ 2 in Supporting Teaching and Learning or STL Level 2 Standards relevant to this post.
• Level 2 qualifications in maths/numeracy and English/literacy.

Responsibilities

• To work under the supervision of a teacher to provide care and encouragement to children and young people with disabilities or SEND, supporting them to participate in activities and liaising with parents/carers/other professionals as appropriate.
• To work under the direct supervision of a teacher to carry out planned learning activities to meet the needs of designated children, individually or in small groups, providing feedback on engagement and achievement of learning objectives.
• To support the development of pupils’ physical, intellectual, emotional and social well-being, contributing ideas to planning to meet development needs.
• To observe and feed back to the teacher on pupil performance and behaviour, taking action as appropriate per school policies.

About this Role

EYFS Learning Support Assistant

Captains Close Primary School

Salary: Grade5 Pay Point 7-8 (Approximate starting salaryof £18,515)

Hours: 31.25 per week and 39 weeks per year ( 38 weeks Term Time, plus one week including INSET days)

Contract Type: Fixed Term with a end date of August 2027

Working Pattern: Monday to Friday 08:30-15:15, with an unpaid lunch break

Captains Close Primary School have an exciting opportunityfor a EYFS Learning Support Assistant. This is a varied role and we arelooking for an adaptable, flexible and resourceful individual.

We are also looking for someone who is committed to improving outcomes for all of our children, along with a passion for providing inspirational learning experiences and someone with strong EYFS knowledge to workin our Reception class from August.

Key Responsibilities

What We're Looking For

Qualifications:

• Level 2 qualifications in maths/numeracyand English/literacy

Experience:

• Experience of supporting teaching andlearning in a formal setting
