Job summary

Southgate Primary School is seeking an enthusiastic EYFS Learning Assistant (Level 2) to join our Early Years team. You will support learning across the EYFS curriculum, build strong bonds with children and families, and promote curiosity and social development in a caring environment.

Working closely with the EYFS Leader and colleagues, you will help observe and assess children’s progress while ensuring safeguarding and welfare are at the forefront of practice.

Qualifications

• GCSE English and Maths at grade C/4 or above.
• Level 2 Childcare qualification (Level 3 desirable).
• Experience in an EYFS environment.
• Strong understanding of the EYFS framework and child development.
• Up-to-date safeguarding training.
• Commitment to safeguarding and promoting welfare of children.
• Excellent communication skills and ability to work effectively in a team.

Responsibilities

• Support high-quality teaching and learning across the EYFS curriculum.
• Act as a key worker, building positive relationships with children and families.
• Encourage curiosity, independence and social development through engaging learning experiences.
• Help create a safe, inclusive and stimulating environment where every child feels valued.
• Contribute to assessment and observations to monitor and celebrate progress.
