Job summary

Right Now Recruitment in the Feltham/Heathrow area is seeking an experienced Air Export Operator to manage shipments end-to-end, including bookings, customs, documentation and billing.

The role involves coordinating with airlines, hauliers and overseas offices to meet deadlines, with exposure to project and exhibition freight.

Salary £28,000–£32,000 per annum and standard hours, Monday to Friday, with a focus on accuracy and timely delivery.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years' Air Export experience within freight forwarding.
• Experience managing Air Export shipments from start to finish.
• Strong understanding of Air Export procedures, airline bookings and documentation.
• Experience completing UK export customs entries is essential.
• Good knowledge of HMRC customs requirements and compliance.
• Previous experience with project, exhibition or time-critical freight would be highly advantageous.
• Strong communication and customer service skills, with confidence liaising with customers, airlines and overseas offices.
• Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to prioritise and manage multiple shipments within a busy operational environment.

Responsibilities

• Manage Air Export shipments from start to finish, including collections, airline bookings, customs clearance, documentation, tracking and final billing.
• Coordinate project, exhibition and time-critical shipments, ensuring specialist freight is handled in line with customer requirements and strict deadlines.
• Complete and process UK export customs entries accurately and in accordance with HMRC requirements.
• Prepare and manage Air Export documentation, including Air Waybills, shipping documentation, pre-alerts and PODs.
• Liaise with airlines, hauliers, customers and overseas offices/agents to coordinate shipments and resolve operational issues.
• Proactively monitor shipments and provide customers with accurate updates throughout the movement.
• Maintain accurate job files and ensure all operational information is correctly recorded within the freight management system.
• Complete job costing and billing, ensuring costs and revenues are accurately captured.
• Deliver a consistently high level of customer service while managing multiple shipments within a fast-paced international operation.

Right Now Group are currently recruiting for an experienced Air Export Operator on behalf of a leading global logistics and freight forwarding organisation based in Feltham, close to Heathrow.

This is an excellent opportunity to join an established international business with an extensive global network and a strong presence across Air Freight, Project Logistics and specialist logistics solutions.

We are looking for an experienced Air Export professional who is confident managing shipments from start to finish, with particular experience across export customs, airline bookings, documentation and time-critical shipments. Experience within projects and exhibition freight would be highly advantageous.

Working within a busy Air Export operation, you will take ownership of shipments from initial booking through to final delivery and billing, working closely with customers, airlines, hauliers and overseas offices to ensure freight moves efficiently and within agreed deadlines.

Key Responsibilities of an Air Export Operator:

• Manage Air Export shipments from start to finish, including collections, airline bookings, customs clearance, documentation, tracking and final billing.
