Right Now Recruitment is seeking an experienced Air Export Operator to join a client based in Langley, UK. This role involves handling import and export shipments, completing customs clearances, and liaising with various stakeholders. The ideal candidate should have a minimum of 1 year of freight forwarding experience and strong communication skills. The position offers a salary between £25,000 and £30,000 based on experience, along with 20 days of holiday plus bank holidays.

Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year of experience in import/export or freight forwarding.
• Strong communication and organisational skills are essential.
• Confident in using IT systems and learning new software.
• Ability to work effectively in a busy team environment.
• Full UK Driving Licence with a maximum of 6 points required.
• Right to work in the UK is mandatory.

Responsibilities

• Handle communication with customers about shipments.
• Complete customs clearances and shipping documentation.
• Book courier shipments and coordinate deliveries.
• Prepare Air Waybills, invoices, and packing lists.
• Liaise with airlines and handling agents.
• Maintain accurate data in internal systems.

Job description

Right Now Group are currently seeking an experienced Air Export Operator to join our client's team. Our client is a well-established Freight Forwarder based in Langley who specialise in providing a high-quality logistics service across air and road freight.

Job Responsibilities of an Air Export Operator

• Handle daily communication with UK and overseas customers regarding import & export shipments
• Complete full air freight import/export customs clearances and European road freight documentation
• Book courier shipments and arrange collections/deliveries, ensuring timely movement
• Prepare and process Air Waybills, commercial invoices, packing lists and other shipping documentation
• Liaise with airlines, handling agents and third-party partners to coordinate freight effectively
• Maintain accurate data across internal systems including ASM Sequoia and BoxTop
• Support with trade show and event shipments, organising equipment for international movements

Requirements of an Air Export Operator

• Some previous import/export or freight forwarding experience (minimum 1 year preferred)
• Strong communication and organisational skills
• Confident using IT systems and able to learn new software
• Ability to work efficiently within a busy, friendly team environment
• Full UK Driving Licence (maximum 6 points)
• Right to work in the UK

Hours: Monday - Friday, 09:00 to 17:30 (1-hour unpaid lunch)

Salary: £25,000 - £30,000 depending on experience
