Job summary

Johnson Matthey Plc is seeking an Export Coordinator for our Royston site. The role focuses on arranging transport for UK and international shipments and producing all shipping documents including invoices, Certificates of Origin, and letters of credit.

It is a hybrid role with on-site presence required once a week. You will work with sales and customer service to ensure timely deliveries, compliance with customs and export controls, and effective communication with freight forwarders to resolve

Qualifications

• Proven ability to use Microsoft Office suite (Outlook, Teams).
• Strong relationship-building with cross-functional teams.
• Knowledge of export operations and required documentation.
• Understanding of Known Consignor and Regulated Agent roles.
• Experience in customer-focused roles is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Arrange safe, compliant transport UK and international shipments using approved freight forwarders.
• Coordinate collection of refining materials from customers to sites.
• Process shipments to meet delivery dates and resolve carrier issues.
• Prepare documents (commercial invoices, packing lists, letters of credit, origin/dangerous goods docs).
• Liaise with carriers on delays, losses or damage and update internal stakeholders.
• Advise sales/customer service on cost/risk of shipping methods (Road, Sea, Air) INCO terms.
• Check and approve freight invoices for shipments.
• Ensure export/import docs comply with customs and export control.
