Job summary

Monarch Education is recruiting a SEND Teaching Assistant to support pupils with special educational needs in a secondary school setting in Bolton.

You'll work 1:1 or in small groups, implementing strategies from EHCPs and working closely with teachers, SENCOs and support staff to create an inclusive learning environment where every student can thrive.

Qualifications

• Experience supporting pupils with SEND (autism, SEMH, physical or sensory needs).
• Patience, resilience and a calm, nurturing approach.
• Enhanced DBS on the Update Service or willingness to apply.
• Right to work in the UK

Responsibilities

• Provide 1:1 or small group support for pupils with SEND.
• Implement strategies from EHCPs, IEPs and individual behaviour or support plans.
• Support pupils with personal care needs where required.
• Assist with communication aids, sensory equipment and specialist resources.
• Promote pupil independence, confidence and inclusion.
• Liaise with teachers, SENCOs and external professionals on pupil progress.

Essential Requirements

• Experience supporting pupils with SEND, e.g. autism, SEMH, physical or sensory needs
• Relevant training (e.g. Team Teach, Makaton, ASD awareness) desirable
• Patience, resilience and a calm, nurturing approach
• Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply)
• Right to work in the UK
