Job summary

Teaching Personnel is recruiting an Experienced SEND Teaching Assistant for a Kirkby (L32) primary school from October 2026. The role involves 1:1 and small-group support for pupils with SEND, helping them overcome barriers to learning in a welcoming environment.

You will collaborate with teachers and SEN staff, supporting EHCP outcomes and tracking progress to foster confidence and positive engagement across the classroom.

Qualifications

• Experience supporting pupils with SEND in an educational setting.
• Confident with ASC, ADHD and SEMH.
• Teaching Assistant qualification or transferable experience preferred.
• Able to work 1:1 and in small groups.

Responsibilities

• Deliver personalised support for pupils with additional needs.
• Work with children who may have ADHD, SLCN and SEMH needs.
• Collaborate with class teachers and SEN staff to adapt learning activities and resources.
• Support the delivery of EHCP outcomes and personalised support plans.
• Encourage confidence, independence and engagement in learning.
