Job summary

Interaction Technical are recruiting an experienced HGV Technician to join a mobile workshop team in the West Midlands, focusing on maintenance and repair of a Scania fleet in a modern facility. The role offers training and development, overtime and a structured career path.

The ideal candidate will have Level 3 Heavy Vehicle Maintenance & Repair and a proven track record in servicing heavy commercial vehicles, with a full UK driving licence and a proactive, team‑oriented attitude.

Qualifications

• Previous experience as an HGV Technician, HGV Mechanic or Commercial Vehicle Technician – essential
• Level 3 Heavy Vehicle Maintenance & Repair qualification or equivalent – essential
• Strong diagnostic and fault-finding skills
• Proven experience servicing, maintaining and repairing heavy commercial vehicles
• Experience stripping, inspecting and rebuilding vehicle components
• Good knowledge of electrical, pneumatic and hydraulic systems
• A full UK driving licence – essential
• A positive attitude and willingness to continue learning and developing
• The ability to work independently as well as effectively within a busy workshop team

Responsibilities

• Carrying out planned servicing, inspections and preventative maintenance on HGVs
• Diagnosing and repairing mechanical, electrical and pneumatic faults
• Completing repairs and maintenance in accordance with manufacturer standards
• Stripping, inspecting and rebuilding major components, including engines, gearboxes, differentials and braking systems
• Carrying out detailed vehicle testing and diagnostic fault-finding
• Completing safety inspections and preparing vehicles for MOT and DVSA requirements
• Accurately recording all maintenance and repair activities using workshop management systems
• Maintaining high standards of workmanship, productivity and efficiency
• Working closely with other technicians and workshop management to minimise vehicle downtime
• Following all company health & safety procedures and best engineering practices
