Job summary

Interaction Technical, in partnership with a leading commercial vehicle maintenance provider, is seeking an experienced HGV Technician to join their West Midlands workshop team. The role offers a competitive salary with overtime, a company van and fuel card, and clear career progression within a modern facility.

Ideal candidates will have HGV/CV technician experience, a Level 3 Heavy Vehicle Maintenance & Repair qualification, strong fault-finding skills, and the ability to work both

Qualifications

• Previous experience as an HGV Technician, HGV Mechanic or Commercial Vehicle Technician – essential.
• Level 3 Heavy Vehicle Maintenance & Repair qualification or equivalent – essential.
• Strong diagnostic and fault-finding skills.
• Proven experience servicing, maintaining and repairing heavy commercial vehicles.

Responsibilities

• Carrying out planned servicing, inspections and preventative maintenance on HGVs.
• Diagnosing and repairing mechanical, electrical and pneumatic faults.
• Completing repairs and maintenance in accordance with manufacturer standards.
• Stripping, inspecting and rebuilding major components, including engines, gearboxes, differentials and braking systems.
• Carrying out detailed vehicle testing and diagnostic fault-finding.
• Completing safety inspections and preparing vehicles for MOT and DVSA requirements.
• Accurately recording all maintenance and repair activities using workshop management systems.
• Maintaining high standards of workmanship, productivity and efficiency.
• Working closely with other technicians and workshop management to minimise vehicle downtime.
• Following all company health & safety procedures and best engineering practices.
