Job summary

Penguin Recruitment is seeking an experienced Asbestos Surveyor to join a London-based team and cover the capital's diverse portfolio of properties. You will carry out Management and Refurbishment and Demolition surveys, ensuring compliance with HSG264 and current asbestos legislation.

Work independently with support from a skilled operations team, producing accurate reports, and managing your daily schedule across London. A UK driving licence and strong communication skills are essential.

Qualifications

• BOHS P402 qualification is essential.
• Previous experience as an Asbestos Surveyor.
• Full UK driving licence.
• Strong understanding of HSG264 and current asbestos legislation.
• Experience in a UKAS-accredited consultancy is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Carrying out Management and Refurbishment and Demolition (R&D) asbestos surveys in London per HSG264.
• Conducting bulk asbestos sampling across commercial, healthcare, education, industrial, and public sector properties.
• Producing accurate and compliant asbestos survey reports.
• Managing workload and daily schedule efficiently across London.
• Liaising with clients, contractors, and internal teams.

THE ROLE

As an Asbestos Surveyor, you will be responsible for carrying out Management and Refurbishment and Demolition (R and D) asbestos surveys across London.

Working independently with the support of an experienced operations team, the Asbestos Surveyor will ensure all surveys are completed to the highest standard while maintaining full compliance with HSG264, current asbestos legislation, HSE guidance, and UKAS procedures.

Key Responsibilities

• Carrying out Management and Refurbishment and Demolition (R and D) asbestos surveys in accordance with HSG264
• Conducting bulk asbestos sampling across a range of commercial, healthcare, education, industrial, and public sector properties
• Producing accurate and compliant asbestos survey reports
• Managing your own workload and daily schedule efficiently across London
• Liaising professionally with clients, contractors, and internal teams
• Maintaining accurate electronic records and survey documentation
• Ensuring all work complies with current asbestos legislation and HSE guidance

What Were Looking For

• BOHS P402 qualification (essential)
• Previous experience working as an Asbestos Surveyor
• Strong understanding of HSG264 and current asbestos legislation
• Previous experience working within a UKAS:accredited consultancy is desirable
• Full UK driving licence
• Excellent communication, organisational, and report:writing skills
