Tameside College in Ashton-Under-Lyne is expanding its Exams Team, recruiting an Exams Co-ordinator to manage the full examinations cycle for multiple awarding bodies. You’ll work with Curriculum and support staff to communicate requirements and deadlines, resolving queries to ensure smooth examinations and timely results.
You will support timetabling, access arrangements and invigilator deployment, while maintaining records and ensuring compliance with JCQ and college procedures.
As part of our continued investment in the Exams service, we are expanding our central Exams Team and recruiting an additional Exams Co‑ordinator. This is an excellent opportunity to join a developing team and play an important part in delivering an accurate, responsive and compliant examinations service across Tameside College and Clarendon Sixth Form College.
Working closely with the Exams Officer, you will co‑ordinate examination and assessment administration for an allocated range of awarding bodies. Your responsibilities will cover the full examinations cycle, including registrations, entries, examination arrangements, achievement claims, results and certification. You will work with curriculum and support teams to communicate examination requirements and deadlines, resolve queries and ensure examinations and assessments run smoothly. You will also support examination timetabling, access arrangements, special consideration applications, invigilator deployment, secure examination materials and post‑results services. Maintaining accurate records and meeting fixed deadlines will be central to the role. You will help ensure that examination activity complies with JCQ regulations, awarding body requirements and College procedures, as well as supporting internal compliance checks and external inspections.
We are looking for an enthusiastic, resilient and highly motivated individual with Maths and English to at least Level 2 with strong attention to detail, a proven track record of administrative support & customer service focus and up‑to‑date knowledge of ICT systems and packages, e.g. Office365. Previous experience of working in a similar role and / or knowledge of further Education would be advantageous.
