Job summary

Exeter College in Exeter is seeking to recruit exam invigilators to join a pool for term-time sessions. You will supervise exams, support students, and ensure assessment integrity in morning and afternoon sessions.

This is a variable-hours contract; sessions typically start between 7:30am and 8:45am or at noon, lasting 3–4 hours. A DBS check and references are required; you should be reliable, professional and able to work both independently and in teams.

Job Description and Person Specification

Join our pool of Exam Invigilators.

What will this involve? Basically, you’ll supervise and support exams, making sure our students’ needs are met and that our exams are run with integrity.

You’ll be responsible for confidential exam papers and student/assessment records, so you need to be totally professional and trustworthy.

If you’re great at communicating with young people and are equally happy working on your own or in a team, we’d love to hear from you.

This year we have work available in January 2027 and April to June 2027. There are also hours available outside these periods, throughout the academic year. Please be aware, this is a variable hours contract, so work isn’t available all day, every day. Exam sessions start in the morning somewhere between 7:30am and 8:45am, and in the afternoon from 12 noon – 1:00pm onwards. Each session lasts roughly 3 - 4 hours. We’re specifically looking to recruit invigilators who can provide a service each year.
