Job summary

Chester Zoo in the UK is seeking Events Team Members to support weddings, parties, conferences and other events at The Square and The Oakfield. You will work hands-on to ensure every guest enjoys a world-class experience, while also assisting front‑of‑house Food & Beverage duties in the pub and other outlets.

The role offers a temporary contract with shifts including weekdays, weekends and evenings. Rate is £12.71 per hour, with a minimum of 8 hours per week and up to 40 hours in peak periods.

Qualifications

• Excellent customer service skills, ideally from events or hospitality.
• Excellent communication and teamwork.
• Numeracy and literacy for taking orders and processing payments.
• Cash handling experience.
• Ability to think on your feet and adapt to different scenarios.
• A keen eye for detail and high standards.
• Bar and/or barista experience desirable.

Responsibilities

• Assist with event setups and pack downs to keep spaces presentable.
• Welcome and serve guests in a friendly, professional manner.
• Support food & beverage service, including meals, drinks and clearing tables.
• Lead the delivery of small conferences and liaise with clients on-day requirements.
• Build strong client relationships to support repeat business and positive feedback.
• Support front-of-house F&B operations within the pub and other outlets when required.
• Maintain cleanliness and presentation across event spaces and F&B areas.
• Collaborate with colleagues and managers to deliver seamless events from start to finish.
