Job summary

Southdown’s Staying Well service in Brighton offers out-of-hours mental health support to people in crisis, with a recovery-focused approach. As a Recovery Specialist you will work in a community setting or Crisis Café model to develop safety plans and connect clients with available services.

Role requires flexible hours, including evenings and weekends, and attendance at training sessions held several times a year in Lewes. A DBS check is required and funded by Southdown.

Qualifications

• Experience of mental health challenges.
• Good understanding of working in partnership to support people in a community setting.
• Knowledge of mental health services and a desire to support people in their mental health recovery work.
• Enhanced DBS check will be paid for by Southdown.

Responsibilities

• Provide mental health support to clients in a social setting or Crisis Café delivery model.
• Use the Recovery Model to create safety plans and explore services or resources for clients.
• Attend mandatory face-to-face training sessions; training typically held in Lewes, East Sussex.
