Job summary

Southdown is seeking a Peer Worker (Recovery) in Eastbourne to join our Mental Health and Wellbeing Services team. You will use your lived experience to support clients in crisis through the Peer Support Model, connecting with individuals and offering hope during recovery.

The role includes mandatory in-person training several times a year and collaboration with the team. This permanent, part-time position (22.5 hours/week) is based in Eastbourne with duties in East Sussex wellbeing hubs.

Qualifications

• Lived experience of mental health challenges.
• Understanding of working in partnership to support people in a community setting.
• Knowledge of mental health services and a desire to support people in their mental health recovery work.
• DBS check (paid for by Southdown).

Responsibilities

• Provide peer support to clients using lived experience to connect and offer hope during recovery.
• Attend mandatory in-person training sessions held in Lewes/East Sussex and participate in regular supervision.
