Job summary

Smile Education are currently recruiting a reliable and proactive Part-Time Caretaker Assistant to join a welcoming school team. This role is ideal for someone with hands-on experience in caretaking, site maintenance or cleaning, looking for a weekday part-time arrangement.

You will support the Caretaker Manager to keep the premises clean, safe and well maintained, manage general grounds tasks, assist with locks and alarms, and respond to maintenance needs during 20 hours per week, Monday to

Qualifications

• Experience in caretaking, site maintenance, cleaning or a similar hands-on role.
• Experience working within a school or educational environment is advantageous.
• Able to perform basic DIY tasks and minor repairs.

Responsibilities

• Carry out general grounds maintenance to keep outdoor areas tidy.
• Perform minor repairs and basic DIY tasks around the school.
• Clean toilets, washrooms and communal areas to a high standard.
• Safely clean bodily fluids following health and safety procedures.
• Sweep floors and maintain cleanliness of corridors and spaces.
• Support with running and maintaining the premises alongside the Caretaker Manager.
• Assist with operating the school alarm system and use a two-way radio for communications.
• Lock and secure school buildings as required and report hazards promptly.
• Follow health and safety procedures and safely store cleaning equipment.
