The Earls High School in England is seeking an enthusiastic Assistant Caretaker to join the busy Facilities Team. You will help maintain a safe, clean and well-presented environment for students, staff and visitors, working closely with the Facilities Manager.
This full-time role is 37 hours per week, term-time only. Shifts include early mornings and evenings with occasional weekend cover; attendance outside normal hours is paid.
We are seeking to appoint an enthusiastic, reliable and committed Assistant Caretaker to join our busy and dedicated Facilities Team.
The Facilities Department forms part of the wider Business Team and consists of a Facilities Manager, five Caretakers—two of whom work part-time—and a team of approximately 15 cleaning staff. Together, the team plays a vital role in maintaining a safe, welcoming, professional and well-presented environment for our students, staff and visitors.
Our Caretakers currently work across a range of shifts to ensure the school is appropriately supported throughout the day. The morning Caretakers work from 6:00am to 2:00pm Monday to Thursday and 6:00am to 1:30pm on Fridays. The evening Caretaker works from 5:15pm to 9:15pm Monday to Thursday and until 8:15pm on Fridays, while the weekend Caretaker provides cover across both Saturdays and Sundays.
The Caretakers and Facilities Manager also participate in a rota for emergency call-outs seven days a week. Any attendance required outside normal working hours will be paid.
This position provides additional facilities support across the school day, Monday to Friday. The successful candidate will work closely with the Facilities Manager and wider Facilities Team to help ensure the school site remains safe, secure, clean and well maintained.
