Job summary

Brighton College is seeking a Library Evening Supervisor on a part-time, permanent basis to support the School Library during evening study sessions. You will supervise pupils, maintain a quiet learning environment, assist users, operate the Library Management System, and help with shelving and stock checks.

The role runs Monday to Thursday evenings and Friday evenings during term time. The salary is £5,073.34 per annum, with benefits including lunch, free tickets to performances, and pension

Qualifications

• Good communication and interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

• Supervise pupils during evening sessions in the Library and enforce library rules.
• Maintain a quiet, studious, welcoming environment supporting independent learning.
• Respond to enquiries and provide guidance where appropriate.
• Operate the Library Management System to issue, renew, and return resources.
• Assist users in locating books and information within the Library.
• Keep shelving tidy and properly maintained.
• Carry out routine stock management and re-shelving of returned books.
• Monitor facilities and report maintenance, health and safety or safeguarding concerns.
