Job summary

Den Hartogh Logistics is seeking a highly organised Transport Operator to join the Continental Operations Team. You will coordinate intermodal transport planning across Europe, maintain clear communication, and collaborate with suppliers and internal teams to deliver excellent service.

The role requires attention to detail, resilience under pressure, and the ability to manage multiple priorities while ensuring timely deliveries and optimal outcomes for customers.

Responsibilities

• Ensure delivery/loading times are achieved through effective planning, problem-solving, and consistent communication with all parties involved.
• Plan and coordinate shipments in advance, securing required transport space and ensuring customer requirements are met or exceeded.
• Liaise with suppliers, internal departments and customer service teams to ensure booking instructions are clear, timely, and accurately communicated.
• Execute daily operational tasks with a strong understanding of their financial impact, maintaining accurate and timely updates in internal systems.
• Proactively identify and communicate any shipment anomalies, volume fluctuations, and customs-related events to relevant stakeholders.
• Monitor urgent and time-sensitive orders, ensuring timely arrivals at terminals and escalating any delays or non-arrivals to avoid disruption.
• Communicate significant delays or short shipments promptly, offering alternatives and obtaining approval for any additional costs.
