Job summary

pyramid8 is seeking an experienced Civils Estimator to join their expanding team in the UK. You will produce accurate estimates for civil engineering and groundworks projects ranging from £25,000 to £1.5 million, supporting the director and contracts manager in securing new work.

You’ll review drawings, quantify take-offs, obtain supplier quotes, identify risks, and prepare competitive tenders with strong commercial awareness.

Qualifications

• Previous estimating experience within civil engineering and groundworks.
• Understanding of earthworks, drainage, roads and sewers, reinforced concrete, foundations and external works.
• Excellent commercial awareness and analytical skills.
• Ability to interpret technical drawings and specifications.
• Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Prepare detailed cost estimates for civil engineering and groundworks projects.
• Review drawings, specifications and tender documentation.
• Complete quantity take-offs and pricing schedules.
• Obtain and assess supplier and subcontractor quotations.
• Identify commercial risks and value engineering opportunities.
• Prepare and submit competitive tenders within deadlines.
• Liaise with clients, suppliers and subcontractors throughout the tender process.

Working closely with the Director and Contracts Manager, you will be responsible for producing accurate and competitive estimates for civil engineering and groundworks projects ranging from £25,000 to £1.5 million.
