Job summary

Fabric Recruitment Ltd in Derbyshire is seeking a Civil Engineering Estimator for a permanent role. You will develop costs, prepare competitive tender submissions and liaise with internal teams and external contacts throughout the estimating process.

Experience in civil engineering or construction estimating, a good grasp of project costs, and strong numerical/analytical skills with attention to detail are essential for success in this role.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Reviewing new opportunities and assessing project requirements.

• Developing accurate and commercially viable tender submissions.
• Liaising with colleagues and external contacts throughout the estimating process.
• Supporting site visits and gathering information to assist with pricing.
• Preparing cost information and supporting documentation.
• Contributing to meetings and discussions around upcoming projects.
• Ensuring work is completed accurately and within agreed timescales.
• Developing positive working relationships with customers, suppliers and other stakeholders.

We are working with an established and growing business to recruit an experienced Estimator to join their team.

This is a great opportunity for someone with a background in civil engineering who enjoys the commercial side of projects and is looking for a role with plenty of responsibility and variety.

Working as part of the wider commercial team, you'll be involved in assessing new opportunities, developing costs and putting together competitive submissions.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Reviewing new opportunities and assessing project requirements

About you

We're looking for someone who can bring previous estimating experience within a civil engineering or construction environment.

You'll ideally have:

• Previous experience in an Estimator or similar commercial role
• A good understanding of construction and project costs
• Experience working with tenders, pricing and estimates
• Strong numerical and analytical ability
• Excellent attention to detail
• The confidence to communicate with a variety of stakeholders
• A relevant qualification in Civil Engineering, Quantity Surveying or a related discipline would be beneficial
