Job summary

University of Bristol is seeking an Estates Assistant in Campus Operations (Temple Quarter - Dental School) to support day-to-day estate services. You will work both as part of a team and independently, providing a professional service to students, staff and visitors.

The role includes reception duties, post handling, room-booking monitoring, compliance testing and ensuring high standards of cleanliness and presentation across the campus.

Qualifications

  • You have previous experience in a customer-focused environment.
  • You will be a people person who is positive, helpful, and caring.
  • Good IT skills, including using Outlook, Excel and Word. Strong communication skills are essential.

Responsibilities

  • Reception duties and welcoming visitors.
  • Delivery, collection and sorting of post.

  • General operational tasks and manual handling.
  • Set up rooms for meetings and events; assist with waste removal.
  • Ensure entrances and pathways are clean and well-presented.

The role

Within our Campus department we are currently looking for a new enthusiastic and motivated Estates Assistant to join our team. The role is critical to the functioning of our estates and in ensuring that all students, visitors, and occupiers receive a professional service. You will be required to work both as part of a team and independently to meet the University's high standards.

What will you be doing?

As an Estates Assistant within Campus Operations at Temple Quarter (Dental School), you will have the opportunity to work across a variety of buildings within our estate, gaining valuable experience in different environments. The role involves a diverse range of responsibilities, including reception duties, the delivery, collection and sorting of post, monitoring room bookings, and carrying out compliance checks and testing.

You will also undertake general operational and manual handling tasks, such as setting up rooms for meetings and events, assisting with waste removal where required, and ensuring that building entrances, pathways and steps are maintained to a high standard of cleanliness and presentation. This is a varied, hands-on role that plays a key part in supporting the smooth day-to-day operation of the campus.

You will deal with a wide range of enquiries from university staff, students, and members of the public, giving the most efficient and accurate help and advice in a friendly, calm, and welcoming manner. As the 'face' of the University, you will provide a positive experience to everyone you encounter.

Additional information

Contract type: Open ended

Work pattern: Full time - 35 hours

Shift pattern: Monday to Friday 12:30 - 20:30

Grade: C

Salary: £24,479 - £24,685 per annum pro rata
