Job summary

The Methodist Church in Britain is seeking a permanent Estates Manager for the Trust Central Team. The role focuses on developing and maintaining buildings to create safer, better environments for pupils and staff, with cross-site responsibilities across Mayfield School and other Trust premises.

You will supervise a team, manage budgets, and ensure compliance with health and safety laws, while occasionally working outside standard hours and travelling between sites.

Qualifications

• Excellent knowledge of health and safety legislation
• Proactive approach to prioritising and resolving issues
• Commitment to working with students with SEND and understanding how environment helps them flourish

Responsibilities

• Develop the estate to improve environments for students and staff
• Carry out ongoing maintenance of buildings and sites
• Ensure compliance with health and safety and all legislation
• Proactively prioritise and address identified issues
• Supervise and manage a team
• Manage the budget
• Carry out administrative tasks
• Work mainly at Heathfield Road site and other Trust premises as required
• Collaborate with the Trust-wide Estates team to find solutions
• Work outside school hours including early mornings and late evenings; may include shifts
• Be a team player with school staff
