Sheffield City Council is seeking a proactive Lead Estate Officer to supervise Estate Officers and cleaning staff across the South West Sheffield estates. You will lead teams, plan services, monitor contractors and work with residents to deliver clean, safe and well-maintained environments.

The role requires strong supervisory experience, practical estates knowledge and excellent customer care. The position is full-time, based on 37 hours per week with salary at the bottom of the grade and

• Experience supervising staff in an operational or high-profile service environment.
• Practical understanding of estates work and frontline services.
• Strong customer care and communication skills with residents, colleagues and contractors.
• Ability to organize work and follow instructions with minimal supervision.
• Calm and effective approach to emergencies and competing priorities.
• Literacy and numeracy to complete records and timesheets.

Mansioni

• Lead, supervise and motivate Estate Officers, block-cleaning staff and operational colleagues.
• Plan, coordinate and monitor estate and block-cleaning services against agreed standards and targets.
• Monitor contractor performance and liaise with contractors, Council colleagues and partner organisations.
• Work with residents to understand concerns, provide clear updates and support practical solutions.
• Oversee services including rubbish collection and disposal, refuse chute and bin-room clearance, graffiti removal, vacant property clearance and communal-area maintenance.
• Ensure communal repairs are reported and, where required, post-inspected; support minor communal repairs.
• Maintain accurate work records and provide clear verbal and written reports.
• Support budgeting, stock control and the safe maintenance of tools, machinery and equipment.
• Train and develop team members, promote high standards and contribute ideas for improving local services.
• Support service cover across the Estates Team when required.
