Job summary

Hertford Regional College's Broxbourne Campus seeks an ESOL English & Maths Lecturer on a temporary contract, delivering 16.75 teaching hours per week to the 16-18 ESOL cohort. You will teach English at Entry Level 3 and Level 1, supporting language development, communication and maths vocabulary, and you will also deliver tutorial sessions to help learners progress.

Start date: Monday 7 September 2026 or as soon as possible; applications invited through Herts Resourcing Group for Hertford

Qualifications

• Experience teaching ESOL, English or a related subject.
• Ability to teach ESOL learners at Entry Level 3 and Level 1.
• Ability to deliver basic Maths to ESOL learners with vocabulary focus.
• Relevant teaching qualification or appropriate teaching experience.

Responsibilities

• Plan and deliver ESOL English lessons at Entry Level 3 and Level 1.
• Deliver basic Maths sessions with a vocabulary-focused language approach.
• Provide tutorial sessions and learner support.
• Adapt teaching methods and resources to ESOL learners' needs.
• Create a positive, inclusive classroom environment.
• Assess and monitor learner progress; give constructive feedback.
• Support learners' development, confidence and independence.
• Complete relevant assessment and administration duties.
