Job summary

Hertford Regional College is seeking an English Lecturer to deliver GCSE English and Functional Skills across Nazeing, Broxbourne and Ware campuses from September 2026. The role is part-time and temporary, with assignments on Wednesday afternoons and Thursday sessions across the three sites.

The post requires a minimum Level 3 Teaching Qualification and prior teaching experience in GCSE English. The position is offered through HRG as a temporary agency worker, with an ongoing term-time contract

English Lecturer - Temporary - Part Time - Nazeing, Broxbourne and Ware - £32.51 to £34.61 per hour

We are recruiting for an English Lecturer to work at Hertford Regional College to help deliver an outstanding learner experience and be inspirational to students at their state of art facilities in Nazeing, Broxbourne and Ware.

About The Role

We are seeking individuals who are passionate about supporting learners in developing their knowledge, practical skills and to deliver GCSE English and Functional Skills at the Nazeing, Broxbourne and Ware Campuses from September 2026.

The assignment will be

• Wednesday afternoon at CK Plumbers, Nazeing - delivering GCSE English Language, 1pm to 4pm
• Thursday Morning at Broxbourne Campus - delivering Functional Skills English, 8.45am - 12.30pm (30 min break)
• Thursday Afternoon at Ware Campus - delivering GCSE English language, 1.30pm to 4.45pm (15 min break)

You will be employed as a Temporary Agency Worker via HRG on assignment to HRC.

Start Date: ASAP

Contract Duration; Ongoing throughout academic year 26/27, Term Time only

About You

Successful candidates will display a passion for teaching and enjoy interacting and engaging with students. You will work collaboratively with colleagues whilst using your own initiative. You will have a minimum Level 3 Teaching Qualification or relevant Teacher Training, great interpersonal and organisation skills and be able to demonstrate previous teaching experience, delivering GCSE English, ideally with the FE sector. You will be a great team-player with that enjoys finding solutions. Experience of teaching functional skills in addition to GCSE level would be a considerable advantage.
