Job summary

Freightliner IML is seeking a Project Manager to lead the ERTMS strategy and its delivery across the Rail network in the UK. You will coordinate cross-functional teams, manage partners, and ensure funding alignment with Network Rail while protecting Freightliner’s commercial position.

You will drive governance, risk management and milestone delivery in a safety-critical environment, applying recognised PM methods and strong negotiation with external stakeholders.

Qualifications

• Proven experience delivering large-scale, complex infrastructure or rail projects.
• Strong governance and delivery control capabilities.
• Experience with recognised PM methodologies (e.g. PRINCE2, APM, MSP).
• Ability to negotiate with external stakeholders (e.g., Network Rail) and represent Freightliner IML.

Responsibilities

• Define and recommend the ERTMS delivery and contracting strategy for Freightliner IML.
• Translate national ERTMS developments into a clear, deliverable strategy for Freightliner IML.
• Ensure alignment between ERTMS implementation and Freightliner’s commercial and engineering priorities.
• Develop and maintain robust governance, reporting, RAID logs and escalation frameworks.
• Lead the ERTMS programme through a mixed delivery model with internal teams and partners.
