Job summary

Freightliner is seeking a Project Manager to lead the IML ERTMS programme in collaboration with Network Rail. You will shape strategy, coordinate cross-functional teams across Engineering, Operations, Commercial and external partners, and manage funding and governance frameworks to deliver on time and within budget.

The role requires strong PM discipline, risk management, and experience delivering complex rail projects within a matrix organisation.

Qualifications

Experience delivering large-scale rail infrastructure projects.
Strong governance, milestone management and delivery control.
Able to manage networks of internal teams and external partners.
Familiarity with grant/funding processes and business cases.

Responsibilities

Define and recommend the ERTMS delivery and contracting strategy for Freightliner IML.
Translate national ERTMS developments into a clear, deliverable strategy for Freightliner IML.
Ensure alignment between ERTMS implementation and wider Freightliner priorities.
Secure funding within Network Rail frameworks and manage resources.
Negotiate timelines, requirements, and funding arrangements.
Develop and maintain budgets, forecasts and cost controls.
