Job summary

Freightliner is seeking a Project Manager for its IML ERTMS programme in the UK. You will lead the development and execution of Freightliner IML’s ERTMS strategy, interfacing with Network Rail to align funding and priorities, while delivering the programme on time, cost and scope.

You will manage a multi-disciplinary team, collaborate with Engineering, Operations and External partners, and ensure governance, risk, and reporting are robust across the project lifecycle.

Qualifications

• Experience delivering large-scale rail projects with safety-critical governance.
• Ability to secure funding and align with Network Rail plans.
• Strong leadership in cross-functional teams and external partnerships.

Responsibilities

• Define and recommend the ERTMS delivery and contracting strategy for Freightliner IML, ensuring a flexible, value-driven approach.
• Translate national ERTMS programme developments into a clear, deliverable strategy for Freightliner IML.
• Ensure alignment between ERTMS implementation and wider Freightliner commercial, operational and engineering priorities.
• Develop and manage budgets, forecasts and cost controls, ensuring value for money for both Network Rail and Freightliner.
• Recruit, structure and lead the Freightliner IML ERTMS team, aligned to Network Rail agreed funding.
