Job summary

NHS National Services Scotland is seeking an eRostering Support Officer to join NHS Tayside’s expanding eRostering Team. The role focuses on maintaining the Allocate Optima system, supporting staff with rostering changes and system guidance, and contributing to digital transformation across services.

You will work with a supportive team, develop expertise in workforce systems, and have opportunities to progress within the NHS Tayside eRostering ecosystem as it scales to meet organisational needs.

Qualifications

• Experience with Allocate Optima or similar workforce systems is desirable; training provided.

NHS Tayside is seeking an eRostering Support Officer to join our expanding eRostering Team. If you have strong IT skills, enjoy problem solving and thrive in a collaborative environment, this could be the perfect opportunity for you.

This is an exciting time to join the service. NHS Tayside is continuing the rollout of the Allocate Optima eRostering system across all staff groups, with full implementation required by March 2028. As a result, the eRostering Team is expanding significantly to support one of the largest workforce transformation programmes within the organisation.

The growth of the service is creating opportunities for people who wish to develop their knowledge and experience in workforce systems, digital transformation and eRostering, and we are keen to hear from candidates who are looking to build a longer-term career in this area. Whilst future opportunities cannot be guaranteed, experience gained in this role will provide a strong foundation for candidates who may wish to progress to eRostering Facilitator/Analyst (Band 5) opportunities should they arise in the future.

You will work alongside a team of eRostering Facilitators and Support Officers, playing a vital role in the rollout and support of the eRostering system across NHS Tayside. This will provide valuable exposure to all aspects of eRostering implementation, user support, system administration and service improvement within a growing and developing team.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform day-to-day maintenance of the eRostering system, ensuring its smooth and efficient operation, processing staff changes and roster amendments within agreed processes.
• Provide advice and guidance on system use to staff at all levels within the organisation.
• Collaborate closely with the team to support the modernisation and digitalisation of systems and processes.
• Exercise strong organisational and problem-solving skills in a varied and stimulating work environment.

About You

• Strong IT skills are essential, ideally with experience of working with computerised rostering systems.
• Ability to manage your workload effectively, delivering work to a high standard and within tight deadlines.
• Experience of investigating issues, identifying solutions and providing high-quality support to users.
• Experience with Allocate Optima or other workforce systems is desirable, although comprehensive training and support will be provided.
• Ability to work as part of a team and contribute to the ongoing development of NHS Tayside's workforce systems.

You will be required to comply with the Code of Conduct for Healthcare Support Workers in Scotland throughout your employment.
