Job summary

You will lead ergonomic assessments, develop solutions, deliver training, analyze incident data, and help update safety policies. A CPE or equivalent is desirable, with 3–6 years of relevant experience and SA regulations

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering, Occupational Health and Safety, or related field with specialization in ergonomics.
• 3-6 years of experience in industrial engineering, with focus on ergonomics and workplace safety.
• Certified Professional Ergonomist (CPE) or equivalent is highly desirable.
• In-depth knowledge of ergonomic principles, biomechanics, and human factors.
• Strong understanding of South African occupational health and safety regulations.
• Excellent analytical, observational, and problem-solving skills.
• Effective communication, training, and presentation skills.

Responsibilities

• Conduct ergonomic assessments of workstations, tools, and tasks to identify hazards.
• Design and implement ergonomic solutions to reduce musculoskeletal risks and improve comfort.
• Develop and deliver training programs on ergonomics, safe work practices, and injury prevention.
• Analyze accident and near-miss data to identify trends and develop targeted safety interventions.
• Collaborate with management and safety committees to develop and update safety policies and procedures.
• Ensure compliance with occupational health and safety legislation and standards.
• Participate in workplace inspections and audits to ensure adherence to safety protocols.
• Investigate workplace incidents and recommend corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
• Evaluate the effectiveness of implemented safety and ergonomic programs.
• Promote a strong safety culture across all operational areas in Randburg.
