Job summary

Placements24 is seeking an experienced Industrial Engineer specialized in Ergonomics and Human Factors to join our Randburg team. You will assess tasks, workstations, tools, and processes to reduce ergonomic risks and improve safety, comfort, and efficiency.

Applicants should have biomechanics/anthropometry knowledge, experience with RULA/REBA, and the ability to develop practical ergonomic solutions while collaborating with cross-functional teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering or related field.
• At least 4 years in industrial ergonomics / human factors.
• Experience with ergonomic risk assessments and mitigation.
• Knowledge of biomechanics and anthropometry.
• Familiarity with OSHA standards and safety regulations.
• Strong observational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication and presentation abilities.

Responsibilities

• Conduct ergonomic assessments of tasks, workstations, and equipment.
• Identify ergonomic risk factors and recommend mitigations.
• Develop workstation redesigns, tool modifications, and process changes.
• Implement ergonomic programs across the organization.
• Provide training on ergonomic principles.
• Collaborate with safety, health, and environmental teams.
• Investigate injuries and near misses related to ergonomics.
• Evaluate effectiveness of ergonomic solutions via data analysis.
• Stay updated with latest ergonomics research and practices.
• Contribute to design of processes and facilities with a human factors focus.
