Job summary

CVS Vets is seeking an enthusiastic and experienced Head Receptionist for our equine clinic in Berkshire. You will lead two receptionists, support the Practice Director with finance and safety duties, and ensure excellent client experiences across calls, diary management, and payments.

The role requires strong leadership, equine knowledge, and a passion for outstanding customer service within a busy veterinary environment.

Qualifications

• Experience as a Receptionist/Administrator or in a client-focused role.
• Veterinary setting experience is a bonus.
• Strong leadership and team management skills.
• In-depth equine knowledge from owning/working with horses.
• Resilience and professionalism in challenging situations.
• Excellent communication and empathy with clients.
• Outstanding customer service and public-facing experience.
• Positive attitude and strong teamwork.

Responsibilities

• Lead a team of two receptionists to ensure excellent customer service.
• Support the Practice Director with finance, Health & Safety and rotas.
• Answer calls, manage diary, and greet clients to ensure a positive visit.
• Manage appointments, handle queries, take payments, and arrange medication orders.
