Job summary

WSP is seeking an Assistant Project Manager to join our Environmental Project Management PMO in the UK. The role focuses on supporting delivery of multidisciplinary environmental projects, working with Project Managers and Technical Leads to keep work on track within budget.

You will gain hands-on experience across the full lifecycle, learning structured processes and best practice in a real project environment, with exposure to national infrastructure programmes and both public and private

Qualifications

• Experience supporting project or workstream delivery with time, cost and quality.
• Familiar with plans, schedules, risk logs, budgets and reports.
• High attention to detail and data accuracy.
• Ability to prioritise workload across tasks/projects.
• Proficient in MS Office, particularly Excel.
• Experience collaborating with technical teams and stakeholders.
• Clear, professional communication and follow-up on actions.
• Proactive problem solving to identify and resolve issues.

Responsibilities

• Support the development of project proposals, defining scope, programme, resources and budget.
• Assist with key PM documentation: plans, cost forecasts, schedules, risk registers, stakeholder logs.
• Coordinate project progress and track delivery against milestones.
• Ensure health and safety requirements for site visits are in place and approved.
• Organise meetings and capture outcomes; follow up on actions.
• Manage project information within SharePoint and ProjectWise.
• Work within multidisciplinary teams with technical specialists and suppliers.
• Support administration of supplier contracts.
