Job summary

WSP is seeking an Associate Environmental Permitting Consultant to lead major permitting projects and provide strategic regulatory guidance across the UK. You will mentor staff, expand our environmental permitting offering nationally, and help win work while growing client relationships.

The role offers flexible location with UK offices and opportunities for cross-border collaboration. WSP values diversity, development, and a culture of inclusion across its UK & Ireland teams.

Qualifications

• Significant experience in environmental permitting, compliance and regulatory strategy.
• Expert knowledge of Environmental Permitting Regulations and related frameworks.
• Strong track record delivering complex, high-value projects across regulated sectors.
• Experience developing and maintaining strategic client relationships.
• Commercial awareness with experience supporting business development and securing work.
• Strong leadership and team development capabilities.

Responsibilities

• Lead major permitting and compliance programmes for clients across energy, nuclear, industrial and utilities sectors.
• Provide strategic environmental and regulatory advice to clients and oversee complex technical work.
• Help develop and expand the environmental permitting offering nationally.
• Win work and build long-term client relationships.
• Mentor junior staff and contribute to business planning and collaboration across WSP teams.
