Job summary

WSP invites applications for an Associate Environmental Permitting Consultant to lead major permitting programmes, provide strategic regulatory guidance, and grow client relationships across the UK.

You will mentor junior staff, contribute to business planning, and help shape the environmental permitting offering while collaborating within WSP's Sustainability and Environmental teams. Flexible UK location with UK-wide collaboration.

Qualifications

• Significant experience in environmental permitting, compliance and regulatory strategy.
• Expert knowledge of Environmental Permitting Regulations and related regulatory frameworks.
• Strong track record delivering complex, high-value projects across regulated sectors.
• Experience developing and maintaining strategic client relationships.
• Commercial awareness with experience supporting business development and winning work.
• Strong leadership skills and experience managing and developing teams.
• Professional accreditation and recognised expertise within environmental permitting.

Responsibilities

• Lead major permitting and compliance programmes for clients across energy, nuclear, industrial, manufacturing, waste and utilities sectors.
• Provide strategic environmental and regulatory advice to clients and oversee complex technical work.
• Mentor junior staff and contribute to business planning.
• Help win work and expand our environmental permitting offering nationally.
