Job summary

WSP seeks an Associate Environmental Permitting Consultant to lead major permitting and compliance programmes across energy, nuclear, industrial, manufacturing, waste and utilities sectors.

You will provide strategic environmental advice, oversee complex technical work and help grow WSP's permitting services nationally. The role includes mentoring staff, contributing to planning and collaborating across WSP’s Sustainability and Environmental teams.

Qualifications

• Significant experience in environmental permitting, compliance and regulatory strategy.
• Expert knowledge of Environmental Permitting Regulations and associated regulatory frameworks.
• A strong track record of delivering complex, high-value projects across regulated sectors.
• Experience developing and maintaining strategic client relationships.
• Commercial awareness with experience supporting business development and winning work.
• Strong leadership skills and experience managing and developing teams.
• Professional accreditation and recognised expertise within the environmental permitting field.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical leadership on permitting and compliance programmes for clients across energy, nuclear, industrial, manufacturing, waste and utilities sectors.
• Oversee delivery of complex technical work and help develop and expand environmental permitting offering nationally.
• Mentor junior staff and contribute to business planning; collaborate across WSP's Sustainability and Environmental businesses.
• Lead major projects and help win work by building client relationships.
• Occasional travel within the UK.
