Job summary

Aberdeen City Council is seeking a dedicated operatives for Environmental Operations, providing gardening and street sweeping across public spaces including parks and housing estates. The role requires a Full Class B driving licence and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team.

Candidates should have knowledge of Environmental Services practices, be able to communicate effectively, and be prepared to use CoreHR for HR processes. Flexible working options are available.

Qualifications

• Must have a Full Class B UK driving licence.
• Working knowledge of Environmental Services teams and practices.
• Willingness to use the Council's HR platforms (CoreHr).
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.
• Ability to organise and prioritise workloads to meet deadlines.
• Ability to work proactively with limited supervision.

Responsibilities

• Undertake a variety of duties in Environmental Operations, including general gardening, street sweeping and horticultural work in parks, cemeteries, open spaces, and housing estates.
• Drive and operate range of vehicles as required (e.g., 3.5 tonne tipper, riding grass cutters, small sweepers).
• Work as part of a team and contribute to delivering high standards of service.
