Job summary

Rutland County Council is seeking an Environmental Compliance Officer to ensure the safe and legally compliant running of the Council's waste sites, providing supervision to contractors and carrying out enforcement activities.

This hands-on role involves collaboration with local residents and external contractors to ensure efficient delivery of environmental services. A full driving licence is required to travel across the county.

Qualifications

• Educated to GCSE level or equivalent.
• Enjoy a hands-on role in a small team.
• Can-do attitude with good communication and organisational skills.
• Enjoy working with a wide range of people.
• Computer literate with a working knowledge of Outlook, Excel and Word.
• Have an interest in waste management and the environment.

Responsibilities

• Ensure the safe and legally compliant running of the Council's waste sites.
• Carry out education and enforcement activities across the county.
• Provide supervision to contractors at Household Waste Recycling Centres.
• Support local residents and carry out formal enforcement action.
