Job summary

Lancashire County Council is recruiting a Policy Enforcement Officer in Waste Management. The role is based at the Environmental Education Centre, Leyland, with regular travel across Lancashire. The post is full-time (37 hours per week) and requires a valid driving license to operate a council vehicle.

Training and accreditation are required within 6 months of starting. You will enforce waste regulations, identify non-compliant service users, maintain records, and support the Enforcement Team in

Responsibilities

• Carry out waste enforcement activities in line with regulatory and operational procedures and standards.
• Undertake home visits to observe the origins of the waste.
• Complete documentation in paper and electronic form in a thorough and timely manner.
• Keep accurate records and produce written reports including statistics on customers and vehicles where enforcement action has been taken.
• Process and analyse service-specific data and information related to the role.
• Assist in development of risk assessments and safe systems of work.
• Assist in monitoring compliance with legal obligations including environmental permits and council policies.
• Provide training on new and existing systems to staff at various levels.
