Job summary

Rutland County Council is seeking an Environmental Compliance Officer to ensure the safe and legally compliant running of the Council's waste sites, providing supervision to contractors and carrying out enforcement activities.

This hands-on role involves collaboration with local residents and external contractors to ensure efficient delivery of environmental services. A full driving licence is required to travel across the county.

Rutland County Council are seeking an Environmental Compliance Officer to ensure the safe and legally compliant running of the Council's waste sites, and to carry out education and enforcement activities across the county.

About The Role

The Environmental Compliance Officer is a hands-on role working as part of a small team. You will be working alongside external contractors and local residents to ensure the safe, efficient and legally compliant delivery of the Council's environmental services.

The role includes working on site at the Council's Household Waste Recycling Centres (HWRCs) as the Technically Competent Manager, providing supervision to the external contractor to ensure their operations fully meet the conditions of the Environment Agency permits. The role also covers all areas of environmental enforcement - from providing education and supporting local residents, to carrying out formal enforcement action.

Please note that you will need a full driving licence to enable you to travel across the county.
