Job summary

Coventry City Council is seeking an Environmental Case Officer to investigate environmental complaints, enforce legislation, and work with residents, businesses and agencies. The role offers varied responsibilities, including out-of-hours enforcement and co-ordinated responses to encampments.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Investigate complaints relating to environmental issues, anti-social behaviour, noise nuisance and nuisance vehicles.
• Enforce environmental legislation using a range of interventions from advice to prosecution.
• Manage cases involving abandoned and untaxed vehicles with DVLA and partners.
• Coordinate responses to unauthorised encampments on Council land.
• Provide guidance to residents, businesses and partner organisations.
• Support out-of-hours enforcement activities including noise monitoring.
• Collaborate with Police, Fire Service and housing providers.
• Maintain accurate case records and contribute to service improvements.
