Job summary

Amentum is recruiting an Environmental Advisor to join the SWMTF team, providing guidance on environmental and waste management to the project. You will report to the Environmental Manager and help deliver strategies within agreed timescales.

You will develop plans, assess environmental aspects, and support audits and sustainability reporting across the project lifecycle, collaborating with engineers and contractors to meet regulatory and technical requirements.

Qualifications

• Degree in environmental management or a relevant field.
• Membership of a relevant institution or professional body such as the Institute of Environmental Sciences.
• Proven experience in environmental (including waste) management under a recognised EMS.
• Evidence of ongoing training to stay updated with environmental policies and procedures.
• Evidence of working collaboratively within a project team.
• Proven ability to produce clear and concise technical documents.
• Familiarity with Environmental Permitting Regulations.
• Experience in applying Best Available Techniques in Environmental Cases.
• Experience embedding sustainability within projects (e.g., BREEAM or similar).

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement environmental and waste management plans and strategies.
• Identify and manage environmental aspects via the project aspects register.
• Contribute to the Environment Case with Best Available Techniques demonstrations.
• Deliver bespoke environmental assessments and work packages across the project lifecycle.
• Identify and manage environmental risks and opportunities.
• Assist the environmental manager with audits and environmental assurance.
• Collaborate with construction teams and contractors to report environmental metrics.
• Collect data to support lifecycle carbon emissions analysis for sustainability goals.

Education

Degree in environmental management or related field

Membership of a relevant institution (e.g., Institute of Environmental Sciences)
