Job summary

Matchtech is seeking an Environmental Advisor for a leading energy and infrastructure client. You will provide environmental support and guidance across a portfolio of high-profile projects, ensuring compliance and sustainable delivery on site.

You will inspect sites, advise on permits and legislation, collect data, and drive continuous improvement through campaigns and documentation, collaborating with ecologists, consultants and regulators.

Qualifications

• Degree in Environmental Science or related field.
• Experience as Environmental Advisor in construction, utilities, infrastructure or energy projects.
• Good understanding of environmental legislation and its practical application on site.
• Knowledge of environmental risks: waste, water, pollution, ecology, contaminated land.
• Experience with environmental permits and planning conditions.

Responsibilities

• Promote environmental best practice across construction sites and support sustainability initiatives.
• Conduct regular environmental inspections and audits for compliance with procedures and legislation.
• Support environmental incident investigations, identifying root causes and corrective actions.
• Assist with collection, analysis and reporting of environmental and sustainability data.
• Monitor environmental performance and identify trends, risks and opportunities for improvement.
• Support development and implementation of environmental campaigns, improvement plans and project documentation.
• Advise site teams on environmental compliance requirements, controls and mitigation measures.
• Assist with management of environmental permits, licences and planning conditions.
• Collaborate with project teams, ecologists, consultants and regulators.
• Maintain accurate environmental records to demonstrate contractual and legal compliance.
