Job summary

Amentum is seeking an Environmental Advisor to join the SWMTF team in the UK. This role focuses on delivering environmental management and waste strategies, reporting to the Environmental Manager, and supporting audits and assurance across the project lifecycle.

Ideal candidates hold a relevant degree, active professional membership, and a track record with environmental projects, including sustainability assessments and regulatory compliance.

Qualifications

• Degree in environmental management, a relevant science, or engineering.
• Membership of a relevant institution such as the Institute of Environmental Sciences.
• Proven experience in environmental (including waste) management under an EMS.
• Evidence of ongoing training and development to stay updated with policies and procedures.
• Experience working collaboratively within a project team.
• Ability to produce clear and concise technical documents.
• Familiarity with Environmental Permitting Regulations.
• Experience applying Best Available Techniques for Environment Cases.
• Experience embedding sustainability through methods like BREEAM.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement environmental and waste management plans and strategies.
• Identify environmental aspects and manage them via the project register.
• Support the Environment Case and demonstrate Best Available Techniques.
• Deliver bespoke environmental assessments across the project lifecycle.
• Identify and manage environmental risks and opportunities.
• Assist with environmental assurance and audits related to design and construction.
• Collate and report environmental metrics with the project team.
• Gather data to support lifecycle carbon emissions analysis.
