Entry level SEND Teaching Assistant
  • Location: Oldham, Greater Manchester
  • Start Date: Immediate
  • Contract Type: Full-time, Permanent
  • Salary: £525 - £600 per week / Competitive
  • Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:30am - 3:30pm

Are you a nurturing and resilient Teaching Assistant with a passion for supporting children with special educational needs (SEN)? We are working with a warm, inclusive specialist setting in Oldham that is seeking a dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant to join their supportive team and make a meaningful difference in the lives of their pupils. PLEASE NOTE: Previous school based experience is compulsory for this role.

About the role:
  • Provide 1:1 and small group support to pupils with EHCPs and additional needs.
  • Assist the class teacher with lesson delivery, behaviour support, and tailored interventions.
  • Promote emotional regulation, independence, and positive routines throughout the school day.
  • Contribute to progress tracking and communicate regularly with the wider support team.
What We're Looking For:
  • Experience supporting children with SEND (in a school or care setting).
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to engage effectively.
  • A calm, compassionate, and proactive approach.
  • Strong understanding of Autism and SEND.
  • A relevant TA qualification.
To be eligible you must:
  • Hold Right to Work in the UK.
  • Hold an enhanced child barred list DBS certificate registered with the online update service OR be willing to process a new application.
  • Provide two professional child related references.
