Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a meticulous Procurement Clerk to support the purchasing department in Randburg, Gauteng. This entry-level role handles purchase orders, supplier data, and procurement records, offering a foundation in procurement and supply chain within a dynamic retail environment.

You will work with the procurement team to ensure efficient processing of purchasing activities, learn basic procurement principles, and develop essential admin skills in a well-established company.

Qualifications

• Grade 12 or equivalent required.
• Admin or data entry experience advantageous.
• Basic purchasing principles understanding a plus.
• Proficiency in MS Office, especially Excel and Word.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
• Good organizational and time-management skills.

Responsibilities

• Process purchase requisitions and generate purchase orders in the ERP system.
• Maintain accurate supplier information in procurement database.
• Obtain quotations from approved suppliers for goods and services.
• Track purchase orders and ensure timely delivery of materials.
• Liaise with suppliers to resolve order queries and deliveries.
• File and organize procurement documentation for easy retrieval.
• Assist with data entry and general admin tasks for the procurement team.
• Verify invoices against purchase orders and delivery notes.
