Job summary

Sky UK Limited is establishing a new Enterprise Assurance capability within the Group Risk Office to provide a consistent, risk-based approach to understanding policy and governance effectiveness across Sky.

The Technical Assurance Manager will drive enterprise-wide assurance, partnering with policy owners and experts to shape a robust framework, improve control health, and deliver actionable insights to senior leadership.

Qualifications

• Ability to assess the design and effectiveness of policies, controls and governance frameworks.
• Expertise in translating assurance findings into clear, practical insight for stakeholders at all levels.
• Strong understanding of technical governance frameworks, technical policy management, control environments and accountability.
• Strong stakeholder management and relationship-building skills, establishing credibility and trust across diverse business functions.
• Confidence to influence, challenge and constructively hold stakeholders to account for improved control effectiveness.
• Strong problem-solving capabilities, identifying root causes and driving sustainable improvements.
• Ability to collaborate with subject matter experts across the organisation to maximise enterprise-wide visibility of control health.

Responsibilities

• Lead assurance activity across Sky's technical policy and control environment, providing independent insight into policy adherence, control effectiveness and areas for improvement.
• Assess whether key policies, controls and governance arrangements are understood, embedded and operating effectively.
• Partner with policy owners, control owners and subject matter experts to strengthen business ownership of controls and support sustainable improvement.
• Help shape and evolve Sky's Enterprise Assurance framework, methodologies and standards, ensuring assurance activity is delivered consistently and objectively.
• Identify opportunities to improve assurance effectiveness through better use of data, insight, reporting and automation.
• Translate assurance findings into clear, practical recommendations and reporting for leaders and stakeholders.
• Contribute to enterprise-wide assurance reporting, helping build a consolidated view of control health, emerging risks and improvement priorities across Sky.
• Work closely with the Corporate Assurance Manager to deliver a coordinated enterprise assurance approach across corporate and technical domains.
